Recap: Virginia vs. NC State
Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - C.J. Leslie scored 19 points and pulled down 14 rebounds as North Carolina State added a much-needed quality win to its resume with a 67-64 triumph over Virginia in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament.
Lorenzo Brown added 15 points and eight assists and Richard Howell netted 10 points for the fifth-seeded Wolfpack (22-11), who will play top-seeded North Carolina in the semifinals on Saturday.
NC State became the third team to shoot over 50 percent (54.0) against the Cavaliers this season.
Mike Scott finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds, while Joe Harris added 18 points for fourth-seeded Virginia (22-9), which hasn't reached the semifinals since 1995.
After Brown made 1-of-2 from the line to give NC State a four-point lead, Harris drained a pair of foul shots at the other end, pulling Virginia within 64-62 with 25 seconds left.
Scott Wood was unable to make it a two-possession game on NC State's ensuing trip down the floor as he made 1-of-2 from the charity stripe.
But Harris' potentially game-tying three-pointer from the left wing clanked off the front of the rim with 11 ticks remaining and Brown made two foul shots at the other end to seal the win for NC State.
Leslie paced the Wolfpack with 10 points and six rebounds as NC State took a 36-33 lead into the break.Game Notes
