Recap: Xavier vs. Richmond

Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - Kenny Frease scored 19 points and pulled down 14 rebounds as the Xavier Musketeers bested the Richmond Spiders, 65-57, in an Atlantic 10 joust at the Cintas Center.

Tu Holloway scored 16 points and handed out six assists for the Musketeers (18-10, 9-5 A-10) who had lost two of their previous three. Mark Lyons added 10 points.

Darien Brothers scored 15 points for the Spiders (15-15, 6-9) who saw a two- game winning streak snapped. Kendall Anthony added 10 points. Brothers and Derrick Williams each claimed five boards.

Xavier led 25-22 at the break after shooting 11-of-30 from the floor in the first half. The Musketeers led by 16 at one point in the first half as they held Richmond to just 7-of-22 from the field in the opening 20 minutes.

Richmond led by three with 12:17 left in the game but Xavier moved back in front, in part by hitting 11-of-15 at the free-throw line in the second half.

Xavier enjoyed a 41-24 rebounding edge in order to overcome a mere 2-of-11 showing behind the three-point line.
