Kansas is a state known for wheat fields, cowboys and tornadoes.
So it only seems fitting that a couple there didn't let something like two nearby tornadoes stop them from getting married.
Caleb and Candra Pence finished their ceremony at a Kansas farmhouse over the weekend as the twisters could be seen touching down about eight miles away in the town of Harper.
Knowing the rain was on its way, the photographer snapped pictures quickly.
The groom's mother said the pictures not only captured the family's special day, but the essence of Kansas.
The pictures quickly went viral. The happy couple is now on their honeymoon, away from the attention their wedding photos have created.
Caleb's brother Matthew says a tornado passing through Harper County isn't new, but the pictures capturing the unique event are iconic of Kansas.
