Officials have begun the task of notifying relatives of those found dead in the Aurora, Colorado theater. Among them was a man from Springfield, Ohio. Attorney Rob Scott told Local 12 News that Matt McQuinn has been identified as one of the shooting victims that died. He was the boyfriend of the step-daughter of a St. Paris Fire Chief, who was also injured in the shootings.
Police say they have finally removed the bodies from the theater in Aurora after a shooting rampage there early Friday morning. But the theater remained an active crime scene Saturday morning.
24 people were still in the hospital Saturday morning from the attacks. 11 people were listed in critical condition.
Early Saturday morning, Aurora Police had still not been able to enter the apartment of suspect James Holmes because it was rigged with explosives. There are reports that the suspect was playing loud music so neighbors would call police and fall into a booby trap.
Hundreds of mourners gathered at vigils in the Denver area Friday night. Near the entrance to the theater's parking lot, a makeshift memorial of 12 candles sat in a row near piles of flowers.
Suspect James Holmes is scheduled to have his first court appearance at 8:30 a.m Monday morning.
