DELAWARE, Ohio (AP) - A coroner says a pregnant woman found dead in her car in central Ohio apparently died of acute heroin intoxication.

Delaware County's coroner released the toxicology test result Monday. Dr. Mark Hickman says the manner of death for 23-year-old Deanna Ballman has not been determined pending further investigation.

An autopsy had found no signs of trauma and confirmed that Ballman's unborn child also died.

Ballman lived in Pataskala and had been reported missing the day before her body was found Aug. 1 northeast of Columbus.

Relatives said Ballman had gone to do a house-cleaning job in New Albany that she found through an online classified ad. Her mother said Ballman called saying she wasn't feeling well, and then the call was dropped.

The majority of people can use alcohol or prescription drugs without becoming chemically dependent upon it, alcoholics/addicts are biologically different from other people. Their chemical make-up is different, so that sooner or later they become physically dependent on the substance. This may result from genetic inheritance or some other underlying mental health problem, so I ask that you please not be so quick to judge, because luckily you do not have the same chemical make-up Cincinnatus. From my own experience, I can tell you that its harsh judgments, like that one, that often make it hard for those who are fighting it / recovering to keep up the good fight. Instead we should lift them up in their recovery.

It's people's own fault if they get addicted to drugs.

Heroin usage is growing by leaps and bounds... people get addicted to prescription drugs that they were legally prescribed by their Doctor...and when they can no longer get the drugs by prescription and/or can't afford the high cost of the pills on the street they move to the next closest thing to get their "fix"... its messed up... EVERYONE knows that heroin will kill, its just a matter of when it will kill you.

Ah, but I do not think it 'sounds' like she is a junk-head...I read, "Relatives said Ballman had gone to do a house-cleaning job in New Albany that she found through an online classified ad. Her mother said Ballman called saying she wasn't feeling well, and then the call was dropped"... and that makes me think that there is something more to this that we do not yet know and that they both may have been murdered. On the other hand, if it turns oout that mama was a junk-head...then that is something else entirely...I am just waiting to see..sigh :(

Ammy I am a little surprise at your comment after reading some of your past post. If this woman would have went down to the clinic and paid thousands of dollars to kill (sorry abort) her unborn baby and then went and killed herself that would have been ok, but seeing how she went and overdosed this murder?
