FRANKLIN, Tenn. (AP) - A Tennessee mall clerk's suspicion has led to the arrest of two Ohio men in what police say were high-value thefts.
The men were caught Monday at CoolSprings Galleria in Franklin as they tried to buy diamond jewelry with a credit card.
According to The Tennessean, one suspect tried to run when police approached, but he was quickly caught.
Police are holding 30-year-old Jermon Trammell and 27-year-old Jai Barker in lieu of $1 million each. It was unclear whether they had attorneys.
Officers said they found 27 fraudulent credit cards on the men and in their car and two counterfeit driver licenses. They also recovered about $70,000 worth of expensive jewelry, designer handbags and a computer. The merchandise was bought in Ohio and Tennessee.
Police believe the men are from Dayton, Ohio.
