a friend of my son's got his 13 year old girlfriend pregnant, she just turned 14 when she had the baby. they got married, now they are fighting each other for custody. he is 19, she is 14. Kids are going to be kids, i think we have all done dangerous things at one point or another. I think this pill sends the image that its okay to be sexually active without thinking about the consequences. But hey, that's just my opinion.

They have been stressing the use of condoms for decades now and it hasn't helped. I don't think offering Plan B is thr right answer but unfortunately it is the one that will work the best for the time being. Kids are kids and will do stupid kid things (we all have).

Good grief - if we can't convince them to abstain until it means something more than 'hooking up', then we need to at least convince them to make their partner wear a condom AND just to be extra careful, the dumbass girl who will fall for the 'if you love me' line and lallows her partner go without the rain gear - birth control pills, please! That avoids a whole mess of problems later...because, though I support abortion, I only do so in the case of rape, incest and to save the life of the mother...NEVER as a means of birth control! There are way to many ways to avoid that - teenage girls could start by smarting up....sigh, but they won't :(

Yeah, my 14 year old son said there's a girl in his grade who's pregnant. A high school freshman, and pregnant already. Deeply sad.
