LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — U.S. Sen. John McCain will visit the University of Louisville next month to give a speech and attend a ceremony honoring his Republican colleague Mitch McConnell.
The Arizona Republican will be on campus Nov. 11 for a speech in Cardinal Arena at the Swain Student Activities Center. McCain later will go to UofL's Ekstrom Library to attend the dedication of a new archive housing the papers of McConnell and the Kentucky senator's wife, former Labor Secretary Elaine Chao.
McConnell Center director Gary Gregg says tickets are required for the free talk and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at www.louisville.edu/mcconnellcenter.
McCain was the GOP presidential nominee last year, losing to Democrat Barack Obama.
