LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - The maker of Jack Daniel's is toasting Frank Sinatra with a new rendition of Ol' Blue Eyes' favorite whiskey.
Jack Daniel's Sinatra Select debuts at the Las Vegas airport on Dec. 1, Brown-Forman executive James Perry says. Next year, the ultra-premium whiskey spreads to major airports worldwide and to high-end U.S. retail stores.
The rollout is aimed at high rollers. Packaged in a specially designed 1-liter bottle, the special-edition whiskey will sell for at least $150 per bottle. The package includes a gift box and book retelling Sinatra's devotion to the whiskey he called the "Nectar of the Gods."
The whiskey was aged in special "Sinatra barrels" at the Jack Daniel's Tennessee distillery that exposed the spirit to extra layers of toasted wood. The result is a slightly darker whiskey.
