PADUCAH, Ky. (AP) — Police in Paducah have charged a child care center director with leaving a young child aboard a van.
WPSD-TV in Paducah reported Tanashea Young was charged with 3rd-degree criminal abuse after she dropped off children at the Children's Creative Learning Center, then took the van with a three-year-old boy aboard to a car dealership to have new tires installed.
When Latisha Maxie came to the center to pick up her son on Monday, he couldn't be found.
Police said the child was found still in the van when mechanics lowered a lift it was on. The boy was asleep.
Investigators said Young claimed she knew the boy was still in the van.
