Police in San Antonio report a woman faked her own kidnapping to avoid going to work.

Earlier this month, a police officer found Sheila Eubanks tied up in the back seat of her car.

Investigators said she told them a man jumped into her car that morning while she was at the A.T.M. held her at knife point and forced her to drive him around town while he was doing drug deals.

She then said the man then tied her up and left her in the car.

Her story quickly started to unravel when officers found a lottery ticket in her purse that was purchased during the time she claimed she was being held against her will.
Plus security video from the bank shows her at the A.T.M.  alone.

When investigators confronted Eubanks, she admitted she simply wanted a day off from work and wanted attention.

She would've been better off to fake a heart attack.

I know this woman, it doesant make sense. Sheila is a well respected person and a loyal worker. She has been with the same company for years and is loved by many loyal customers. She is friendly nice and normal. Havent seen her in awhile since I no longer work with her, due to my job change, but just puzzled by this. I'm sure everyone is.

Maybe she hasn't heard that the economy tanked - and the likelihood of her finding another employer to lie to is pretty slim these days. Everybody needs a day sometimes just to get things done... or do nothing at all. If you've foolishly spent your vacation time, and used up all your sick time, you wait until the "days off" days are available again - just that simple. But to manufacture a story involving the police has to be the single most stupid thing I've ever heard. She deserves to be fired...and I doubt she'll do very well trying to claim unemployment benefits. Dumb azz.

Maybe I will try this tomorrow. Who wants to be the kidnapper? :)

You know I have to admit I have not used this excuse before. it would probably be a better excuse for being late. They would want you to get to work rather than wait around for the police to come and take a report. "I am fine , just give me a couple of minutes to get it back together and I can go ahead and work" betcha nothing else will be said about it.

She should've gone with a fake fungal meningitis diagnosis; that would've garnered a much more satisfying, longer lasting result (until it didn't). I'm constantly amazed by this kind of person (and how many there are like her).
