Travel down Winton Road this weekend and you may find a few unexpected ghosts peeking through the windows! The students from Finneytown Junior and High School are competing in a new Halloween Window Painting contest designed to attract attention to the Winton Road corridor.
Springfield Township coordinated this first-time event with the Finneytown Secondary Campus. Students submitted drawings to their art teachers and businesses sponsored their storefront windows. Now, shoppers can tour Winton Road and find fourteen painted window scenes.
Visitors can call the Wicked Windows on Winton Hotline at 522-2108 to cast a vote for their favorite window design. The student who paints the window with the most votes will win a cash prize of $50, sponsored by Hill Hear Better Audiologist and Associates.
Participating businesses include: Powel Crosley Jr. YMCA, Sibcy Cline, Woody's Express Car Wash, Finneytown Skyline, Valvoline, Arby's, Bill's Landscape and Garden Center, Curves, Athena Foods, Burke Hardware, and Donatos Pizza.
Voting begins Saturday, October 24th and will last through Halloween. The winner will be announced on Monday, November 2.
