A vigil was held Monday night for a Blanchester teen killed a morning crash in Clermont County.

The Ohio State Patrol said that 19-year-old Brandi Fumarola drifted off State Route 133 Near Taylor Pike in Goshen Monday morning.

She overcorrected and the car spun out of control going off the left side.  The car then hit a pole.

Fumarola was a graduate of Blanchester High School. Local 12's Paula Toti explains how her family gathered at her alma mater in her honor.

Fumarola's friends began planning the vigil around 4:30 p.m. A couple of hours later, hundreds turned out to show support.

"We expected a big crowd but this is more than we expected. But she touched so many lives."

There were 19 balloons for the 19 year old who graduated from Blanchester High School last year and ran track during her high school career. "She's one of the very few people I know who was happy 99.9% of the time."

"She had a bad haircut one time and she somehow loved it, she loved that it was a bad haircut. She could make anything happy. Yes, she was just happy. She wanted to be in National Guard like her brother."

She also wanted to go into early childhood development and was a student at UC Clermont working hard. "We worked together the last three years at McDonalds and you could be having a bad day and she would come in and that smile would just be there."

It's very sad this young lady lost her life so soon. Kilroy is correct in his statement though about the lack of driver's training. Kids are not being trained proper driving techniques when there is snow, ice, or rain conditions. When the kids get out there to drive, they think hazardous conditions are normal conditions for driving. There are many adults in the same mind frame as well. Driving is a priveledge and not a right. Be mindful and alert at all times. Parents of driving teens, please take time out to ride with the kids in rain, ice and snow conditions and teach them what to do if they begin to lose control. Condolences to the family as a life taken too soon.

So sad and this accident was preventable. The problem is the lack of ***good*** driver training. The so-called driver education and driving schools are nothing but cash-cows for the operators. Want proof? Just go out and drive in the Cincy area and experience the tailgaters, speeders, left-lane hoggers, drivers who will not yield, drivers who active block lane changes and merges, drivers with cell-phones jammed up their...ears..., this list goes on for pages of pages. This unfortunate teen lacked the necessary driving skills to be operating a vehicle through lack of training. It was not her fault, that honor belongs to our school system and the greed that allows the false security of the no-training driver's education schools.

There is no need to get upset over them not giving a name tarahumler. Have some respect for the family who may not have known until late in the evening. If you dont like it do read the news.
