Batavia - The Ohio State Highway Patrol, in conjunction with Miami Township Police Department and Clermont County Sheriff's Office, announced today that an OVI checkpoint will be held from 10:00 PM to 2:00 AM tonight on SR 28, east of Buckwheat Road, in Miami Township, Clermont County.

The OVI checkpoint, funded by federal grant funds, is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers.
The checkpoint will also be held in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols to aggressively combat alcohol-related injury and fatal crashes.

If you plan to consume alcohol, designate a driver or make other travel arrangements before you drink. Don't let another life be lost for the senseless and selfish act of getting behind the wheel impaired.

Hamilton County, Ohio
– The Hamilton County OVI Task Force announces that an OVI checkpoint will be conducted tonight, Friday, August 31, 2012 in Sharonville.

The checkpoint will be located on US-42 (Lebanon Rd) between I-275 and Fields-Ertel Rd, and will be in operation from 10:30 PM to 1:30 AM.

Checkpoint locations are selected based upon analysis of OVI arrests and impaired driving crashes that have occurred in the area of the proposed checkpoint.

The Hamilton County OVI Task Force is taking an active enforcement role by arresting impaired drivers in an effort to reduce deaths and injuries caused by drunk and drugged driving during the national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over mobilization. Three checkpoints and numerous saturation patrols will take place during the campaign, which runs from August 17 through Labor Day, September 3.

The Task Force encourages the public and the media to follow our activities and to learn more about the Task Force and the impaired driving problem by visiting their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/HCOVITF and subscribing to our Twitter feed at www.twitter.com/HCOVITF.
