A Bomb threat has prompted an evacuation Friday morning of North Dakota State University in Fargo.
"NDSU is requiring all employees and students to leave campus by 10:15 a.m.," the alert reads. "This includes residence hall students, who, if necessary, should walk to locations off campus."
The alert added that the evacuation also covers the school's downtown buildings and agricultural facilities.
Campus police cautioned that law enforcement should not be called about the threat, "in order to permit emergency lines to remain open for emergency calls."
The University of Texas at Austin also issued an alert Friday on its website ordering an evacuation "due to threats on campus."
University of Texas director of communications Rhonda Weldon says the university received a call about 8:35 a.m. from a man claiming to be with al-Qaida. The man said he'd placed bombs all over the campus that would go off in 90 minutes.
It is unclear whether the two evacuations were related.
