I have the answer. Concealed carry & gun in the house, preferrably a big caliber. HyGanalo.com. But it will only help if you have a reasonable amount of common sense & self control. Don't open the door to strangers, don't walk down a street in bad neighborhood by yourself at night, don't wear a Movado watch & carry a $2000 Apple laptop & a $500 IPhone & a $500 IPad in your hand in a bad neighborhood at night, don't withdraw cash from ATMs in front of a group of thugs at night, etc. yes, common sense & street smarts go along way. If you fear for your kid's safety and they lack street smarts & common sense, send them to my CCW class. I have a PHD in street smarts!LOL! HyGanalo.com

Only a looney would send their kids to U.C.! First they get robbed by their union thug professors with never ending tuition increases. Then they are put in jeopardy by cuts to police protection (because ALL the money has to go to the faculty). This leaves the students open to attack from the uneducated thugs of the neighbor hood. The fat cat lazy professors will from time to time get off their lazy tenured backsides to try to ravish your daughters.

I will never understand why people open their doors in the day time to folks they don't know MUST LESS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT? Seems a little stoooopid to me. The same thing with walking alone on a dark street -- Dumb if you ask me. Those little peep hole things don't cost but a buck or two. Put one on your door.

These crimes were not on the campus so what is the city doing about crime around the UC area? No wonder UC needs to keep police officers in and around the community.
