Cincinnati Police have arrested two men for allegedly firing shots at an off-duty officer early Tuesday morning. 22 year old Jihad Sanders and 23 year old Frank Latham are charged with felonious assault for the incident on Summit Road in Roselawn.
It happened in Roselawn as the officer was stopped in his car at Summit Road and Greenland Place. The officer had just finished a security detail at Dukester's and was driving away.
Investigators say someone leaned out of an SUV stopped in front of the officer's car and started shooting the officer, who's vehicle was unmarked but who was wearing a uniform. Three shots were fired, hitting the grill and the headlight.
The officer began to follow the SUV, but called off the chase at Reading and Section Roads when speeds reached a dangerous level.
The officer, who is not being named at this time, was not hurt.
Latham and Sanders are also charged with improperly discharging a weapon into a habitation from an incident on Bosworth Place.
