The article says the man was already being held at the police station. This sounds like a failure of the arresting officers to search him before bringing him in.

bcatz, I agree this was an isolated incident. What idiot in their right mind would shoot at armed police officers? I am happy that you love your state of Kentucky, but I love Ohio. In another article 1 in 4 KY children live in poverty...I'm sure the same could probably be said of OH. Let's face it, we both have "roaches" in our states that need to be exterminated.

This is a very rare isolated incident. The bad guy got lucky in Jersey. Kentucky is a better place to live than Ohio in my opinion, but the closer you get to Ohio, the more crime there is. That says it all. That's the facts. You may have a nice house but if you let roaches lose in your house, your house is bad news! Ohio is bad news!

I must be reading this wrong -- they were holding the man at the police station and he shot 3 people before they shot him. How does a man being held at the police station have a gun that the police don't know about. Guess I'm just confused at this point.

It’s been said that no one, with the intention of killing as many people as possible, plans to commit their crime at police stations (or other heavily armed location). Question 1: Did the shooter PLAN and VOLUNTARILY go to the police station? (No! He was arrested and TAKEN there). Question 2: Did the gunmen PLAN on murdering people or was he merely attempting to affect his escape? (Clearly he was attempting to escape). Question 3: Did the gunman (in a heavily armed police station) kill anyone? (NO) Question 4: Why? (Because his potential victims were ARMED!) What further proof do you people require?
