A local man is found guilty on several charges-but is acquitted of attempted murder-more than 24 hours after punching his own lawyer in court.

Court workers say 20-year-old Dionte Lummus got angry with his attorney on Monday, February 4th, and told the judge he wanted to fire him. Then Lummus took a swing at the lawyer. Lummus tried to run out of the courtroom but a deputy tackled him.

The judge then cited Lummus for contempt and assault.

Lummus was on trial, accused of shooting Avondale Food Mart owner Antonio Moore in the head during a robbery in April of 2011. Moore did survive. Today the jury found Lummus guilty of robbery, kidnapping and felonious assault but not guilty of attempted murder.

He was sentenced to 34 years in jail plus six months for punching the lawyer.

Bcats, her meaning is obvious. She says, “He’s got a loser’s face for sure”. So, what kind of “face” does the photo reveal? A BLACK face. Clearly Lee”EveryOneIsAbBigot”62 is a racist! Of course there is ONE other possibility. Perhaps Lee simply dislikes Dionte’s broad nose, full lips, dark eyes, wool-like hair, and his skin pigment.

Jail overcrowding can be solved by taking them to the zoo, they have empty cells there. I'm a genius! So Cincinnati! - Cincinnati can finally be a trend setter!

BEERCATMAN, That's it! Solve two problems at once! Have the streetcar solve the problem of jail overcrowding, have the street car go past the ZOO! I bet the ZOO isn't overcrowded. The streetcar CAN BE A SUCCESS AFTERALL! The ZOO will thrive! Good for the streetcar, good for the ZOO, good for Cincinnati!

This guy had a chance at a 6 year plea deal and declined??? Now serving 34+ years. Im glad so many dumb asses are in prison.

Local Yokel .. I appreciate your sincere comment ... I hate reading articles like this .. aside from race ... (there are a lot of criminals that commit crimes that make you think twice ... about where they came from .. )... This guy by no means represents anything in regards to Civil Rights ... He is an unproductive member of society .... and this unproductive society ... does include .. but is NOT LIMITED to the obvious.
