Director of community and media relations? What a BS position, probably pays 6 figures. No wonder the budget is outta control. Cut out all positions of this nature and there's money to run the jails. What other kind of crap did Lies have going on. It finally looks like some progress will be made with the new sheriff. I'm amazed a Democrat finally got elected, and with next to no budget. Congrats to the new sheriff.

Steve Barnett quit because his friend didn't win the election? I guess he was afraid he might actually have to do some work when Neil takes over.

Economystic, thank you for handling the double dipping comment. Its just stupid to say that onece you retire from a public service job that you shouldn't be allowed to run for public office because you would get paid twice. It appears that Cincinnatus was more of a politician fan than someone that has actually done the job as deputy and is more qualified to meet the needs of his employees from personal and professional experience.

EXCELLENT. it appears the new Sheriff in town has plans of his own. (I thought the question of doubledipping was concluded long before the election. No matter which candidate had won they both would be considered doubling dipping regardless of which one was elected so why bring up something that would have been true for either candidate, unless you just want to start a smear campaign AND AFTER THE ELECTION? COME ON! DUDE.)

So will the new sheriff be double dipping from the taxpayers pockets? Will he keep drawing pension money while earning full time income as sheriff?

Great! Looks like some of the "good ole boy" deadwood is already headed for the woodpile.
