The Butler County Coroner has ruled the deaths of two people found shot in the parking lot of a Fairfield day care center Monday as a murder-suicide.
46 year old Evelyn Restituyo of Colerain Township was found bound by zip ties in the back seat of the SUV. She'd been shot once in the thigh and once in the head. Police believe her estranged husband, 47 year old Francisco Restituyo of Liberty Township, shot her and then shot himself.
The couple were discovered by lawn care workers at Jellybean Junction at the Mack and Winton Roads around 9:15 Monday morning. The SUV was parked near the center's dumpster. The gun was also found inside the SUV.
Preliminary tests show that Francisco had alcohol in his system at the time of his death but it's not clear how much.
The family says Evelyn and Francisco were still married but were separated. Evelyn's aunt says the family had no previous signs of any trouble between the two. But then, Francisco came to Evelyn's home three days in a row. When he showed up yesterday, the two drove separately to Evelyn's workplace at Totes in West Chester. The family says they've heard reports that the couple struggled sometime while they were at Totes. Evelyn's car was found in the parking lot there.
