Semi-Truck Driver Dies In I-71 Crash In Northern Kentucky

One person was killed Monday night after a tractor trailer overturned on I-71 in Carroll County.

Kentucky State Police investigators said 44-year-old Kristopher Shantz of Cynthiana died after the semi went off the road in a curve in the northbound lanes and overturned.

Shantz was ejected from the vehicle. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

Shantz was pronounced dead at the scene by the Carroll County Coroner.

I am this mans ex-wife and he always did wear his seat belt in the truck. I have pictures of him with his seat belt on driving. I don't know what happened but it isn't very nice to call someone irrispsible after they are dead. It sure doesn't help their families feel any better, that just makes them pissed at the remark. he was a professional and did his job well.Don't judge unless you walk in their shoes!! How do you know that the seat belt didn't come undone. I have had them not latch completely and come loose. His family need answers and closure.,not responces like that.

I agree. I thought that they, of all people, would wear a seatbelt. Sorry for this man's family.

I can't believe a professional driver would not wear his seatbelt. Very irresponsible.
