LUBBOCK, Texas. - A couple was once so close, you could barely tell them apart. That is, on paper.
Kelly and Kelly Hildebrandt (no, we didn't make a typo here), a couple who famously met on Facebook upon realizing they shared the same name, got married, and received national attention for their story, are getting a divorce.
The couple filed for divorce for irreconcilable differences.
Kelly Carl told NBC 6 in Miami, Florida, said, "She's a Florida girl, and I'm a Texas guy. We really did come from pretty different worlds."
The romance started in February of 2009, when Kelly Katrina messaged Kelly Carl on Facebook. They were married by October of that year.
Kelly Katrina's mother said the two have remained good friends and are both doing well.
