Replicas of two ships that Christopher Columbus used on his 1492 voyage are making a stop in Cincinnati this week.
The "Nina" and "Pinta" sailed into the Tri-State this afternoon. You can tour them for ten days along Northern Kentucky's riverfront. The ships will dock at B&B Riverboats in Covington. The Pinta and the Nina will open to the public on Friday, September 25th.
The Nina was built by hand and without the use of power tools and considered to be the most historically correct Columbus replica ever built. The Pinta was recently built in Brazil and is a larger version of the archetypal caravel.
While in port, the general public are invited to visit the ships for a walk-aboard self-guided tour. The prices are $7.00 for adults, $6.00 for senior citizens and $5.00 for students. Children under 4 are Free. The ships are open every day from 9:00 - 6:00 p.m. No Reservations necessary.
