I guess the man does deserve a fresh start but am not sure sex offenders can be rehabilitated.

This is nothing new. A few years ago, a man hanging around at a park was behaving like he might be a sexual predator. I found out his name, and looked it up, and sure enough he was a registered sex offender. I warned many women at the park, that he was a registered sex offender. Some the woman told me he said lewd things to them and had propositioned them. One woman told me that she saw him frequently hanging around a school. I contacted the police, and they said they couldn't do anything unless he broke the law. I was surprised to hear that a sexual predator could legally hang around parks, playgrounds and schools. He lived about three blocks from the school that allegedly frequented the school grounds.

Not a smart guy. Makes you wonder why he would even move to a place with such a close proximity to a K-8 school AND a park. Not mentioned was Freedom park just a half mile in the other direction as well. This is setting up for something bad.

anut- if you know a sex offender is living somewhere they haven't registered, why aren't you calling the police immediately instead of posting on some random new-site comment page? Don't you care about your neighborhood children?

Agd2007, don't forget that they will probably spend the rest of their life on welfare. Someone should call the police because someone who failed to register is living at 263 Prinsingracht.

Example boys and girls: The State passes a law that raises speeding ticket fines to $1000.00. They then send you a bill to charge you the difference between what you paid out in fines and the $1000.00 for every speeding ticket you have received in your whole life. How would you like them apples? Its obvious why this is unconstitutional.

Ipso facto? Do they mean ex post facto? Everytime some emotional ,extreme case comes up ,some idiots want to throw out the Constitution. Whatever this person did ,he payed in full for his crime based on the law at the time. You cannot and should not pass laws and punishments to be applied after the commission of a crime. The Kings of England liked doing that ,but our Founding Fathers hated the idea of it so much ,that they put it in the original unammended Constitution. They were right. Amazing how many Americans are ignorant of our Constitution.
