HANDYMAN, If your going to say something to Matthew then read little further down he was only replying to a statement that was made by Cincinnatus who said a negative thing about section 8. I grew up in price hill and lived on just about every street for 13 years, but made a decision to move because of the violence down there. Section 8 helps alot of families who need somewhere to live so they are not on the streets and yes it does get abused but there are actually people on it that needs it. I hear all the time someone wants to clean up their neighborhood but you can pick up all the trash and clean the streets but to actually have the neighbohood a nice place to live the people in the community need to work together to stop crime and not look the other way when someone is getting mugged and smart ass comments like the one you made is not a good start.

Cincinnatus, More than 90% of u.s. mortgages are guaranteed by the federal govn't created fannie mae or freddie mac. Mortgage interest deductions save owners hundreds of billions in taxes they would otherwise pay on their income without this massive subsidy. These massive subsidies mean that we don't have a free private market in housing (or anything else) anymore. WE ARE ALL WELFARE QUEENS NOW!

mylifeasme, tell us more. Do the police and people in the area know about this? I was in the bloc coffee shop today and no one said anything. Get the community involved.

I like that people are working together to rebuild the community but don't just focus on that little corner. There are plenty more spots that could be used as great retail space. Across from krogers there are open store fronts, up further by Rallys too. There are store fronts on backstreets as well. I really hope the police are willing to watch out a little more too someone was mugged in broad daylight two days ago across from the coffee shop.

As a "new comer" of only 34 years, I have long been Price Hill could be a thriving community instead of the "hood" it's been leaning toward. I like the Bloc and look forward to positive changes.
