Police: Man Stole Bag Of Pot Because It Smelled So Good

CHARLEROI, Pa. (AP) - A western Pennsylvania man is accused of stealing a small bag of marijuana held as evidence because he allegedly couldn't resist the drug's aroma.

Authorities say that 27-year-old David Allan Thompson of Charleroi stopped at a police station Saturday night to offer police some unspecified information.

Police tell the Observer-Reporter newspaper that Thompson apparently stole the drugs while an officer was logging them into evidence after police had seized them that night.

Police confronted Thompson outside the station. They say he handed over the drugs and confessed, saying, "I just couldn't help myself. That bud smelled so good."

Thompson faces a preliminary hearing Aug. 23. Online court records list no attorney for him.

I find it a bit strange that the police station leaves drugs lying around where a civilian has access to them to steal. Who should get fired over this blunder?

LOL! Good thing it was at the Police station - from anywhere else we would be reading about his death instead of his arrest!

So much is lost in the translation when you see something in print. You can't get the full context. He probably said (with a bevis and butt had draw), "wow maaan, I just couldn't help myself, huh, huh, huh!. That bud smelled sooo gooood.", "Do you have any brownies dude?"
