Cincinnati Police are investigating a deadly shooting near the University of Cincinnati campus. It happened shortly after 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the intersection of Jefferson and University avenues.

Police found 28-year-old Brandon Tyler-Tharp shot in the parking lot of The Smoke Shoppe, which is across from the UC campus. Tyler-Tharp, who is not a UC student, received multiple gunshots to the torso. He was taken to University Hospital where he died.

Local 12 spoke to Tamika Tyler, who identified herself as the sister of Tyler-Tharp.

"I just couldn't sleep. I just had to come over here just to see the last place he was at, walking and breathing. He isn't [sic] a bad person, just trying to make it. I don't know what happened," said Tyler.

After the shooting, UC Police issued an advisory to students and staff on the West Campus. They were told to stay indoors while police processed the crime scene. The advisory was lifted about an hour later.

Police are looking for a dark-colored luxury sedan they believe is connected to the shooting.

If you any information that could help police, you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at (513) 352-3040. You can text "CINTIP PLUS YOUR TIP" to "CRIMES," or 274637. You will always remain anonymous. You can also submit your tip online at http://crime-stoppers.us/.

@Economystic - What does any of that matter when the police do not know who shot him? Don't be dumb all your life. RIP to Brandon.

What is wrong with you people?! Do you not have an ounce of humanity in you?! Did you stop JUST FOR A SECOND to think that this man was a SON, BROTHER, BEST FRIEND and meant the world to someone or many people?! You see that he was shot in a "bad neighborhood" and you actually have the ignorance to post that you are embarrassed and ashamed of his murder? How in the World do you think his family is feeling right now? Instead of being ashamed or embarrassed by his and his families loss maybe you should be ashamed and embarrassed of yourself and your ignorance. I feel bad for you. Hopefully God will put more Love in your heart. I'm sure if this was your child, brother, friend you would be singing a different tune and outraged that they still have not found the sick individual that cut Brandon's life short. I know for a fact Brandon was VERY loved and will be VERY missed by A LOT of people. I hope he is resting in Peace with God and the Angels. We will all miss you Brandon!!!

This local is practically ON campus. You can throw a ball across the street and hit UC property.

THIS AREA OF the city is a disgrace. It is becoming Detroit South. On Saturday there were two football games at Nippert bringing in about 50,000 fans. I would be ashamed and embarrassed if our guest from New Jersey witnessed this.

The UC area was, is, and will continue to be one of the most dangerous areas in the city.
