DRY RIDGE, Ky. (AP) - State police say a northern Kentucky crash that killed a Corbin woman was weather-related, marking the first confirmed state death from a storm that has killed a dozen people nationwide.

Trooper David P. Jones says 28-year-old Nora Green died Wednesday following a crash on Interstate 75 about 1 p.m. EST.

Green was a passenger in a car driven by her husband, 29-year-old Jacob Evens of Owensboro, who police say lost control of the car he was driving and struck a pickup truck parked on the right shoulder of the interstate. The driver of the pickup, 67-year-old Danny Marsh of Boone County, had pulled over to help another motorist and was not in the truck.

Evens was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence.

Rain, sleet and snow fell across much of Kentucky on Wednesday.
