CHICAGO (AP) - The nation's leading pediatricians group is offering its first advice on organic fruits and vegetables for children.

The American Academy of Pediatrics says parents who want to reduce their kids' exposure to pesticides may seek out organic produce. But the group notes that organics aren't necessarily safer or more nutritious than conventional foods.

The group says science hasn't proven that eating pesticide-free food makes people any healthier.

The report was published online Monday in the journal Pediatrics and echoes a Stanford University study released last month.
