Out-Of-State Family To Claim Nancy Lanza's Body

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut's chief medical examiner says arrangements are being made out of state for the burial of the mother of Adam Lanza, who fatally shot 20 children and six adults in a Newtown elementary school.

The New Haven Register reports that Dr. H. Wayne Carver said a funeral home outside Connecticut wants to claim the body of Nancy Lanza, who was shot last Friday by her son shortly before he headed to Sandy Hook Elementary School where he went on a deadly rampage.

Carver says he doesn't know the name of the funeral home, but says police in New Hampshire are fielding questions from the media. Nancy Lanza once lived in New Hampshire and her brother is a retired police captain in Kingston, N.H.

Carver wouldn't say whether Adam Lanza's body remains unclaimed.

rosey - Not with a home worth 450 grand and all the charities she supported. I could have had more sympathy for this woman if she had not decided that taking her socially maladjusted kid to target practice was a good idea. I just want to ask her what the freak she was thinking and if she realizes the chain of terror that she brought about. 20 dead 1st graders and their teachers were the victims of her ill-fated and stupid decision. :(

I'm so gad somebody got her body!! I hope they get the boys body too. They had nobody and it's terrible, I feel so bad for all the victims, and families! They will never be the same. Things like this could be prevented if medical professionals weren't so greedy and GAVE a little of their time and Insurance companies weren't out for the Mighty BUCK!

You know the kid couldn't help it, he needed help. Nobody helped him, his mother tried, but it was too late. It should have been done a long time ago, but then again Insurance won't pay for Neurology, unless you were knocked out or unconscious etc. Their was nothing she could do. She had no support from his dad. She was all alone with the son they both created!! Their are many parents out their and they can't do anything but watch their children suffer!! All because of the GREAT power of money!!! These Doctors need to give a little and help these people.

I Just don't understand even if it is not news worthy, they still put it out there. I dont see how the other child did not claim his mother atleast she was a victim also, trying to do the right thing by her child. I just had a baby three months ago and thinking of all those babies who lost there lives i cried thinking that, that sould have been my child or could be my child. this world is sick, I just hope god can help make this world a better place to live. Put god back up in schools, protect our schools like they protect our courts. please keepour children safe. They are our future.

Why do we need to know this. The woman is dead. Where she's buried is not our concern nor our business really. The son, however, just put him in the ground somewhere - we don't care where nor when. He was a sick person who should have been in a mental hospital years ago. I know you can't tell what's inside a person by their outward appearance, but the pictures of this person expresses sheer evil. Supposedly mom was trying to do the right thing in preparing to commit him, but where in all this was the father of this child. Couldn't take it, so he left the mom in care of this deranged person. Longview, we sure need you back again! And more like you were.

Why is this news? What about a family claiming the remains of a deceased family member needs to be broadcast to the world?
