The stage is set and now it is time to pull open the curtains on the World Choir Games.
The internationally recognized music festival began Wednesday with an opening ceremony at U.S. Bank Arena.
Choirs lined up at Great American Ball Park for a parade in the afternoon, followed by a formal procession of the choirs to the arena.
The opening ceremony gots underway at 7 p.m. and was headlined by the Cincinnati Pop Orchestra and May Festival Chorus.
There are expected to be 15,000 participants in more than 200 events spanning eleven days of competition.
The competition ends July 14 with a closing ceremony.
