The Warren County Prosecutor today released new details in the death of a woman whose body was found on Thanksgiving Day in Caesar Creek State Park. Officials now believe Nichole Barry of Columbus was shot to death by her boyfriend, 42 year old Richard Snyder, also of Columbus.
Prosecutors believe Barry and Snyder were traveling from Columbus to the riverboats in Indiana to go gambling when they got into an argument and ended up stopping at the access road at Caesar’s Creek. Officials think Snyder shot Barry and dumped her body sometime after sundown on the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. Snyder disposed of her body by dumping her body in a shallow grave and allegedly got rid of his clothing and other items related to the murder. Barry's body was found by hunters on Thanksgiving Day.
Snyder took off-he was arrested four days later after he checked into the VA Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri,
Snyder faces 18-years to life in prison if he's convicted of the death.
