Miami University Students Wake Up Early To Celebrate Green Beer Day
OXFORD - Students on and near Miami University’s campus are taking part in a time-honored tradition on Thursday. It’s Green Beer Day.
Green suds started to flow as early as 5:30 a.m., as it does every Thursday before spring break.
Green Beer Day has its own Facebook page, where it’s touted “The day you’ll never remember but won’t ever forget.”
Local 12 spoke with two students who got an early start.
“I’ve done enough work. I’m done with my midterms, I’m rewarding myself,” said Emily and Alexa from Miami University. They said they both woke up early to celebrate.
They told us they were going home for a nap before going out for a second round.
Police are, of course, out in full force to keep the crowds of students under control on this unofficial holiday.
