WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Miami University Band is getting ready to step off in the nation's capital to help with the Presidential Inauguration.
The 215-member band will perform in the Inaugural Parade.
The parade starts after the President and Vice President Joe Biden take the oath of office.
More than 2,800 bands applied to participate. Miami University's band is the only one from Ohio marching in the parade.
Miami sophomore Maddie Wessel said she has a packing list for the band's saxophone section. She was a member of the Miami band that played in the 2011 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Dr. Stephen Lytle, the director of the athletic bands, said he's not concerned about the band having to walk the nearly two-mile parade route.
As for the music, "Love and Honor," is a must.
