Neighbors in Loveland will gather today to remember one of their own who gave the ultimate sacrifice. A memorial service will be held today for Captain David "Seth" Mitchell.
Captain Mitchell died in Afghanistan just last month. Hundreds are expected to attend this memorial service for the Loveland High School graduate who was killed in a helicopter collision on October 26th.
Captain David "Seth" Mitchell was stationed at Camp Pendleton, California, but was in Afghanistan because he volunteered to report early to duty to assist a unit short on manpower.
Mitchell was honored last Friday night at Loveland's football game against Milford High School. There was a moment of silence before the game and players wore Mitchell's old football number "30" on their helmets.
Tonight's memorial service for Mitchell will start a six o'clock at Veteran's Memorial Park. That's at the intersection of Loveland Avenue and Riverside Drive.
