A man is flown to the hospital after crashing his car in Boone County Wednesday morning. Sheriff deputies say he fell asleep behind the wheel.
42 year old Jeffrey Meyer of Florence lost control of his car on Dixie Highway at Frogtown Road in Richwood around 3:15 a.m. The car went off the side of the road, hitting a fire hydrant, two road signs, a pole, then flipped and came to rest on it's top-on top of a second fire hydrant.
Meyer was trapped, upside down, for about 40 minutes before crews could free him. A medical helicopter was called and took Meyer to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
