Hamilton County sheriff deputies are searching for a man who brandished a knife and threatened another driver during a road rage incident on I-275 Monday morning.
39 year old Robert Meyer of Higginsport was driving in the high speed lane around 6:30 a.m. near the Montgomery Road exit. Meyer tells Local 12 he was on his way to work this morning and was driving in stop and go traffic when the driver behind him began to appear agitated.
Meyer says the other driver moved in front of him in the high speed lane and started slamming on his brakes. Meyer veered into the median to avoid hitting the suspect. He stopped to check his car for damage when the angry driver pulled over, jumped out and began waving a knife and threatening to stab him.
In his 911 call, Meyer says, "He got out.. He almost hit me in the a**. I pulled over and he threatened me with the knife. He said you son of a bitch you want me to stab you with the f***ng knife? I said hey dude what's your problem?
Dispatcher: Did you see the knife? Meyer: Yes sir, I sure did."
Meyer says he jumped back into his car and left but later pulled over and made the 911 call. He was able to give a description of the car-a black Volkswagon Jetta with blue neon lights and a white neon light on the driver's side door. It had a license plate number of EOB 7209. He says the suspect was a white man in his mid 20's with a goatee wearing a leather jacket, black pants and a black shirt.
Meyer was brought to tears talking about the incident Monday morning in Symmes Township. "And now I'm scared, if I drive my car again, what if that guy sees me before they catch him? I have another vehicle, don't get my wrong, but I shouldn't have to worry about it."
