A judge orders a Middletown man to stay away from a local Kroger grocery after stealing a shopping cart.
Mark Gajus is charged with petty theft for taking a cart valued at $200 from the store.
Middletown Police say they got a call about a man stealing a grocery cart from the Kroger on Oxford State Road in Lemon Twp. Gajus was seen pushing the cart down the street.
A man, later identified as Dean Tucker, got out of his car and helped Gajus put the cart into the trunk of a vehicle. Police located the vehicle and escorted the men back to Kroger to return the cart.
Tucker said he saw his friend pushing the cart and stopped to offer Gajus a ride. Gajus told police he took the cart because he needed to push his scrap metal around town.
