A suspect is being held in the Highland County jail Friday morning after a domestic situation escalated.
Lynchburg Police Officers were called to the 300 block of Grandview Ave. around 10 p.m. Thursday. That's when investigators said the suspect, whose name has not been released, attempted to run down an officer.
The officer fired his gun in self defense. The suspect fled.
The suspect was picked up about a mile down the road in Clinton County on Townsend Road. He was taken to Clinton Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released for a gunshot wound.
He is being held at the Highland County jail on a prior warrant. Charges are pending in this case.
