An autopsy is scheduled Monday on a man who died after a taser was used on him by Tri-State police.

The incident happened last Tuesday in Crutchfield Park in Springfield Township.

A North College Hill officer used tasers on two people.

Corey McGinnis, went into cardiac arrest and later died. The other person is okay.

The North College Hill Police chief said his department will investigate the use of force,  but said he believes the officer's actions were in line with department policy.

The real problem is that many criminals and their supporters feel they have a perfect right to resist arrest and to ignore the lawful orders of police officers.

You mean like Timothy Thomas, Navrat? Now there was a real threat...Who knows how much jaywalking he would have done if they had let him live. Cops keep it up with their chest-puffing crap and people are going to start shooting back. Their job is to keep the peace, not fill body-bags. They need to be prosecuted in out-of-area venues, since local justice in many cases is apparently incapable of rendering an objective verdict. The real problem here, though, is that the perception that stun guns are safe is demonstrably false, and policy needs to change. Like right now.

Sorry pal,but there was a time in many cases when if you even ran from the cops you could expect to be shot in the back.

With a gun? You have no idea what you are talking about. If a gun left the holster in the 70's they had a whole lot of paper work to do.Now it is the first thing they doStick it in your face. You are just a troll looking for a argument.

Talked? Yes,if not with a gun, they did their talking with billy clubs and mag flashlights. I remember a time when almost all cops carried black jacks. Talking someone into not resisting arrest ,or into following a lawful order doesnt work. It seems that the criminals and their auxiliaries want nothing less than to be able to resist arrest and ignore lawful orders with impunity. Todays criminals are sissies.

Tasers kill all the time. The police told us they were to be used in lieu of deadly force. Not as cattle prods when someone fails to obey a command. What did they do before tasers shoot you for not obeying? No they talked. The guidelines must be changed back to in lieu of deadly force only.
