COLERAIN TOWNSHIP - A man accused of pulling a gun at a Colerain Township bar is due in court Tuesday morning.
Jeffrey Diamond is charged with aggravated robbery after allegedly holding up the Kahoot's Sports Bar in early November. Police said he ordered everyone to the ground, then stole money from the cash register.
When one of the customers confronted Diamond, he allegedly pistol-whipped the man.
Local 12's Angela Ingram spoke with the man who was pistol-whipped, Art Gomez, who said he got a good look at the suspect, which eventually led to his arrest.
Gomez was in the restroom while the robbery was taking place.
"Once I came out, there was somebody pointing a gun at everybody at the bar. He took the money. He didn't know I was right behind him and I tackled him down," said Gomez.
Gomez said one of the things that motivated him to fight the alleged robber was the terrified look in one of the faces of the customers.
"It was nothing but girls in that bar. It was me and the owner at the time, [but] he was on the floor. Those women could've been my sister or my mom. I would've done it at any moment in time."
