Lawrenceburg Police are investigating after a three car crash that closed a highway for more than an hour early Friday morning.
Officers say the crash happened on U.S. 50 between Arch St. and Hollywood Blvd just before 7 a.m.
A blue Toyota Prius, driven by a 45 year old male from Hebron, Kentucky traveled left of center and collided head on with a red Pontiac Grand Am, which then hit a blue Chevy Malibu.
The driver of the Prius had to be cut from the vehicle and was taken by Air Care medical helicopter to University Hospital for treatment of chest pain and possible internal injuries.
The Grand Am was driven by a 23 year old female from Moores Hill, Indiana. She was taken to Dearborn County Hospital and then transferred to University Hospital by Air Care for treatment of head, neck and leg injuries. The Grand Am also had a 26 year old female passenger from Rising Sun, Indiana. She was taken to Dearborn County Hospital for treatment of chest pain. Both women had to be cut from their vehicle.
The driver of the Malibu, a 46 year old female from Addyston, was not injured.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
