Jacob Bumpass was picked up Thursday on a parole violation. Bumpass is believed to be the last person to see Northern Kentucky teenager, 17-year-old Paige Johnson, alive.
Prosecutors tell Local 12 that Bumpass was arrested because there was beer in his home. A condition of his probation is that there be no alcohol in the house. He'll now have to appear before the parole board.
Johnson disappeared in September 2010 in Covington after she left her mother's house to go out for the night. She never returned.
Police in Covington have been following up on leads and tips in Johnson's disappearance for more than two years.
Paige's grandmother, Roderick, was with her as she got ready to go out that night. Two years to the day Johnson disappeared, she came to the spot, 15th and Scott Streets, where Bumpass claims he dropped her off that night.
Bumpass has never been charged with her disappearance and won't talk to police.
Police have searched for Paige to no avail. In 2010, police searched East Fork State Park. and in July, a tip led police to search an area in Knox County, Kentucky.
Bumpass was orginally jailed on a theft charge.
