Lee, that's true, have you ever been in the cashier line at a store and their register goes down,they don't know how to add and subtract anymore without a computer giving them the answer.Kids do everything in class on a computer,guess that's why when the computers go down,the whole world stops. :)

Children need to have the fine motor skills developed for other uses later in life. Besides, if the beloved power ever goes out for whatever reason, we're going to need to know how to write, among other simpler things.

If you don't learn to read cursive, you'll never be able to read the constitution. There's a lot of liberals who'd prefer you can't read the constitution since it gets in the way of their agenda.

It still blows me away that they ever QUIT teaching it. Anybody can scribble on a piece of paper or anybody elses check.

I do agree that it still needs learned. However I learned it and I still never use it, not even to sign. Things my signature is my initials and some scribbles.

Unfortunately, there is going to have to be a group of school children that have to learn both cursive and keyboard use. They just happen to live in a time when the world is intransition to a paperless one.

well hell if they learn how to write that is accomplishment.

Everyone should be taught to cursive write. It's distictive towards the individual and is needed for signing checks and other documents. Just my opinion.
