What was that driver doing in the express lane in the construction zone to begin with? That lane is ONLY for cars.

I saw some crash scene photos on another media outlet website. It appeared his driver side front tire blew out. Glad the driver got out OK.

Semi drivers do this country a great service. Let's all do them a favor and stand clear.

Chenoosesmom-sounds like someone has major issues with truck drivers?! I think everyone on this board has had issues with truck drivers but at the same time we've had issues with those who drive cars, motorcycles, mini-vans, old people, young people, etc. Not fair to judge! I like how everyone talks like "other people" are the bad drivers, I bet 100% every person reading this has made a mistake while driving or done something that others would consider annoying or stupid.

Those streets downtown are crazy when the roads are dry, let alone when they're snow-clogged and slippery. People fly out of the entrance ramps onto the highway, acting like everyone else has to get out of their way, especially big trucks. Many drivers try to get onto the highway in front of a big truck, rather than slow down and get on the highway behind a big truck. My best wishes to the truck driver.

@Chenoosesmom- Of course he was thinking about his nice warm bed. Wouldn't you if you had to sleep in a truck? I highly doubt thoughts of his bed caused the crash. A semi cruising down the highway does not just crash like Hardware said, I'm sure he was cut off. Next time you go bashing someone think about what they do for you. He brought all of the goods to the store that you purchased for your family while spending time with them for the Holidays. Something he probably did not get to do.

Where does it say he was driving too fast? My GUESS is, based on the way people drive now, is that he was cut off by some idiot in a car...probably either, driving too fast, too aggressively or distracted...or all three.

When will semi drivers learn that they cannot fly. They don't have wings yet. That area is an unsafe area at this time and it takes a complete nut to think he can just go sailing through there. He should consider himself lucky that he's not dead. Roads were slippery and the wind was whizzing, what was he thinking about -- a nice warm bed? And he thought he sprouted wings!
