A Marine from Hamilton is murdered and authorities say his fellow comrade is responsible for his death.
21 year old Private Jonathon Law is charged with the death of 22 year old Corporal Joshua Hartzell of Hamilton.
Hartzell's body was found in a wooded area Friday morning at Camp LeJeune. Investigators say he died of blunt force trauma to the head.
Hartzell graduated from Ross High School in 2006 and joined the Marines. He was an electro-optical ordinance repairer with 2nd Maintenance Battalion also in 2nd Marine Logistics Group. Friends say he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Officials say Law was moved Saturday night to the brig from a North Carolina hospital, where he was treated for self-inflicted wounds. Law was a supply administration clerk assigned to 2nd Supply Battalion, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, II Marine Expeditionary Force and Camp Lejeune. He is from Clark County, Nev. and joined the Marines the same year as Hartzell.
