Northern Kentucky fire officials are working to determine the cause of a fire.
Flames broke out at a duplex in the 100 block of Beechwood Rd. in Ft. Mitchell around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Everyone made it out of the home safely.
Investigators said the fire started on a back deck and spread up into the attic.
As firefighters were tearing down the ceiling inside, they said they experienced a "smoke explosion"--which knocked some debris around and damaged the house.
However, no firefighters were hurt.
