When the Jersey Boys hit the stage the next two weeks at the Aronoff Center, keep your eye out for the man playing Tommy DeVito. Many of you will recognize him. It's John Gardiner who grew up in Edgewood.
Gardiner is a 1994 graduate of Covington Catholic High. He is also an Northern Kentucky University alumnus. Many of you might remember him when he played in "Pacific Rim" that won the battles of the bands at Bogart's back in the day.
"I look forward to seeing all my family, friends and fans," said Gardiner about why he's most happy to be back in town. "I am also interested in what they think of me playing a roughneck from New Jersey," he added.
By the way, Skyline Chili was one of Gardiner's first stops when he got back to town.
Jersey Boys is the rags to riches story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons -- four boys from the wrong side of the tracks who became one of the biggest music sensations of al time.
They wrote their own songs and invented their own sounds. The group sold more than 175 million records before they were 30 years old. The show includes all of the group's greatest hits including "Sherry", "Big Girls Don't Cry," and "Walk Like A Man."
The show runs through December 9, 2012. Tickets start at $28 and can be purchased by calling (513) 621-ARTS.
