GALLATIN COUNTY, Ky - Authorities have made an arrest in a deadly crash in Gallatin County involving an ambulance, five months after the incident.
Police arrested 22 year old Hunter Legrand of Warsaw on Wednesday in connection with the crash in July.
They said Legrand's Jeep crossed the center line on Highway 127 in Gallatin County on July 24th, hitting an ambulance head-on. The ambulance was stopped on the side of the road and the force of the crash caused it to flip on its top. Two EMTs and a patient were inside the ambulance and had to be taken to the hospital.
The patient, 59-year-old John Little, died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Police said Legrand never should have been driving in the first place. They said he used drugs before driving.
Legrand has been charged with murder, assault, and driving under the influence. He also faces charges of criminal mischief and leaving the scene of an accident.
No trial date has been set for Legrand.
